In the summer of 2015 the world wide known Tchaikovsky opera The Queen of Spades will be shown in Rome.
The Queen of Spades is an opera in 3 acts written by Pyotr IIyich Tchaikovsky and the libretto was composed by his brother, Modest Tchaikovsky. The story of the opera is based on the novel The Queen of Spades by Alexander Pushkin.
The story of the opera takes place in St. Petersburg in Russia in the 18th century. The main characters in the opera are Herman who is the officer of the Czar’s guard, Count Tomsky who is the friend of Herman, Chekalinsky who is an officer, Surin and Chaplitsky who are also officers, Countess, Liza who is the granddaughter of the countess and so on.
The Queen of Spades opera will premier on Friday 19th June 2015 in Rome at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. The other performances will be shown on 21st June, 23rd June, 25th June, 27th June and the last one will be on 30th June 2015.
