“La Biblioteca Infinita. I Luoghi del Sapere nel Mondo Antico” (The Infinite Library. Sites of Knowledge in the Ancient World)

La BibliotecaThis exhibition will show several documents of the ancient world. The exhibition will be divided into seven parts and several paintings, statues, frescoes, reliefs and writing instruments will be shown. During the exhibition visitors will have the chance to have an insight look in the ancient world of the Greco-Roman world, to discover the development of books and reading through the times of the Hellenistic Age until to the Late Antiquity. The exhibition also presents the private and public sites where knowledge was exchanged.

The exhibition is organised by Rossella Rea and Roberto Meneghini. The Infinite Library. Sites of Knowledge in the Ancient World will be held at the worldwide known Colosseum and on this occasion the walkways will be covered with armaria which is the ancient shelves and images dedicated to Culture. The exhibition will be on display from 14th March in 2014 until 5th October in 2014 in the capital of Italy in Rome at the Colosseum. The opening hours of the exhibition are the following, it opens every day from 1st September to 30th September from 8.30 in the morning until 6 in the evening and from 1st October until 5th October it is open from 8.30 in the morning until 5.30 in the afternoon. The entrance fee for the exhibition for adults is 12€ but there are also reduced tickets for 7.50€, the tickets can be used for to days and covers the entry in the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill Ensemble.
