To travel with the metro in Rome is very practical and efficient. The only bad thing is that you miss out on what’s above the ground, so if you want to see as much as possible, walk on foot instead, but if you are tired in your legs or have lack of time, the metro is a great way of travelling in Rome. It has totally two lines and these cover the most important areas of Rome. The connection between the two lines can be found at the Termini station, which at the same time is the name of the main railway station in Rome.
The metros in Rome start at 5,30 in the morning and they travel daily until 23.30 in the evening. They leave every 7-10 minutes. Tickets can be bought in the news-stands and at the stations.
